How To Nominate a Des Moines Area

Prior to the start of each meeting, members are invited to nominate nonprofits for the group to support. Three nominations are chosen at random.  Nominators/presenters must be members who have attended at least one prior meeting. Presenters make a 5-minute pitch followed by 5 minutes of questions. After the pitches and questions, members vote on which of the three nonprofits to support. 

The nonprofit that receives the majority of votes will receive donations from all the members both in attendance and via email after the event. The nonprofits agree not to contact members for future solicitation. Nonprofits that did not receive the majority of votes can be nominated again by members as soon as the next meeting.

Members do not have to be present at each meeting. While we love to see each other, we understand we all have other commitments, and each of us can’t make every meeting. After each meeting, an email is sent to all registered members announcing the winning nonprofit with instructions as to how to donate.

Donations may be made via check during the meeting, mailed to the designated 100+ committee member, or made online if the organization has an online donate link. Donations are made directly to the organization, not to 100+ Women.
